This text explain, in an present day vision, the principles which base the environmental education movement in its triple dimension: ethical, conceptual and methodological. The book reconciles the thematic explanations with guidelines for practical work, and pretends to be useful in forming planners, teacher trainers and decision-makers. It also helps to integrate the environmental dimension into higher level studies.

In 1998 a special edition was published under the sponsorship of Unesco, to impulse the distribution of this book in all the Spanish speaking countries.

Until the present moment, it has been used as a basic text for the subject of “environmental education” and the postgraduate courses in Spanish and foreign universities.
