This book is the result of a wide research directed by its author during the period 1991-92. It express the situation of the environmental education in Spain in that moment; the most relevant experiences in each Region, and the needs and deficiencies for the development of this educational movement.

Taking this data as reference and comparing them which the Unesco Environmental Education Congress Moscow 1987 (which fixed the main lines for the national strategies on E.E.) its author elaborated a wide document about the Spanish Strategy Bases, which was the firs reference of this type presented by the Public Administration (The Institute for Nature Conservation)
